I heard a song lyric last year that really struck me... it goes "I turned every single dead end to a round about, found a route"
At a time in my life when things were so tumultuous, this was a reminder to not let these obstacles get in my way, but allow them to redirect me. I often visualize the ups and downs of life and relate it to the flow of water, the power of the ocean, etc. I can so easily see how intensely things can spiral and get out of hand quickly like a bad storm in the middle of the Pacific... and how beautiful calm things can be at times.
I love this analogy because it allows me to lump in a few of my other favorite quotes like "a calm sea never made a skilled sailor". It is a reminder to embrace that chaos that can ensue and ride the waves as they come.
Redirection can be extremely difficult for many people, depending on the avenue or the means of that redirection. Sometimes it's a break up, sometimes it's losing a job or not getting an opportunity you really wanted. Most redirections are not always seen as a positive at the beginning, but end up being life changingly positive, in the long run.
The biggest, and yes I mean BIGGEST, and MOST IMPORTANT thing to remember when facing these situations, and especially if you're wanting to change your perspective on them... is YOUR MINDSET and building TRUST.

Mindset is one of the largest factors in our perceptions and how we view the world and the best part about it, is that it's actually so much in our control we don't realize that it's in our control. Growing up we have always had so many people, shows, songs, television personalities, celebrities, etc. telling us how to think, how to act, what to wear, etc. and it can be overwhelmingly thrown in our face that we should act / think / perceive things in a certain way. But what the media and most teaching outlets don't teach us these days, is that this aspect of our minds is actually very much in our control and we get the chance to think the way we want and perceive things in the way we want.
OK so where am I going with this...
The magic of the redirection is that you have the chance to change your entire life based solely on how you keep your mindset during the redirection. Are you looking at the redirection with shame, guilt, inner disappointment, lack of hope for the future...etc. OR are you looking at the redirection as something that saved you from something that was not meant for you?
The power of being able to control your mindset is this... you get the chance to learn and trust that everything that happens in your life happens because it is divinely meant to happen. Both good and 'bad' things happen to us because that is just not what's meant for us in our timeline, and that's OK. Often times a redirection is merely an opportunity to shift your focus and find a positive outcome. Sometimes we're not meant to have that job we really want, sometimes that relationship didn't work out because it wasn't meant for you, sometimes that thing you really wanted wasn't meant for you, and that's OK.
When you can learn to trust in the divine timing and divine protection of life itself, trust and know that everything that's meant for you is yours and will be yours, and learn that each redirection is not due to a shortfall in you but merely is a universal intervention to put you back onto the right path... your life will change for the better. Opening up your heart to trusting in your timeline, your protection, and knowing you will be OK no matter what will open doors of opportunity that you never imagined.
What's one big redirection that you thought was the 'end of it all' that actually ended up being the best thing that could've ever happened to you?
