A Lincoln man has been arrested in Omaha in connection to the fatal shooting of two men early Saturday outside a southwest Lincoln gentlemen's club.

Prosecutors sought a warrant Tuesday for the arrest of 32-year-old Christopher Z. Johnson for the first-degree murder of Terrell Jones and Carlos Silva and two counts of use of a firearm to commit the murders.

Earlier in the day, Lincoln police identified Jones, 39, and Silva, 40, as the men fatally shot just before 2 a.m. Saturday after an argument involving them and a third person outside The Office, near West Van Dorn Street and U.S. 77.

Both had been shot multiple times and were taken to the hospital, where they died from their injuries.

On Tuesday morning, police said they were searching for the person who shot them.

LPD Spokesperson Erika Thomassaid after reviewing surveillance video and interviewing witnesses, investigators determined Johnson was the person responsible.

They tracked him to Omaha, where he was arrested after a foot pursuit Tuesday afternoon. He was taken to the Douglas County Jail on the warrant. Thomas said he will be extradited to Lincoln at a later date.

She said investigators believe the shooting occurred after an argument outside the club between the three men and that Silva and Jones did not have any weapons on them.

Thomas called it an isolated incident and said police didn't believe there was an ongoing public safety concern.

She asked anyone with information or video of the incident to call LPD's non-emergency number at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.

LPD is planning to hold a press briefing Wednesday to provide more information on the double homicide.

Saturday's deaths at the strip club come less than a year after BSR Inc., which does business as The Office Gentlemen's Club, was sued by the parents of a woman who worked there, alleging the staff's negligence led to their daughter's wrongful death.

According to the suit, on Nov. 30, 2021, 24-year-old Taryn Griffith had been a patron at the Lincoln club, where she also worked, when another patron gave her a pain-relieving tablet, which, unknown to her, was laced with fentanyl.

Their attorney said BSR didn't provide her first aid or call 911 to get her help. She died at home hours after taking the tablet.

With Saturday's double homicide, there have now been five killings in Lincoln this year.

On May 18,Xavian Sawyer, who was a student at Lincoln East, was fatally stabbed once in the chest and once in the abdomen during a dispute at a residence in the 3000 block of North 64th Street. 14-year-old Stephen D'Amore has been charged as an adult with first-degree murder in the stabbing.

On April 9, the Lincoln Police Department responded to a reported shooting at an apartment in the 1100 block of G Street at about noon. When officers arrived, they foundJohn Armstrong, 52, of Lincoln, with a gunshot wound to the head; he was pronounced dead at the scene. Jacob Mulloy, 53, of Lincoln, turned himself in and was charged with first-degree murder.

On April 7,a security guard shot and killed 32-year-old Greg Little of Lincoln outside the Royal Hookah Bar & Lounge at 1619 O St. Police did not charge the security guard in that case.
