Excellent example of the venerable E70 platform, arguably one of the best X5’s made. Hard to find color combination of Sparkling Bronze Metallic with Oyster Nevada Leather interior, nicely loaded with the Convenience Package, Technology Package (heads up display, keyless entry, push button start), Power adjustable steering column, Tire pressure monitoring, Roof Rails, Auto-dimming mirrors, Lumbar support, Dark Bamboo wood trim, Park distance control, Premium hi-fi system, DVD, cold weather package, 19” Alloy Star-spoked wheels, Power tailgate, Panoramic moonroof, Auto-dimming rear view mirror, Power front seats, Heated front seats, Ambient lighting, Privacy glass, rear HVAC controls and retractable rear window sun shades, upgraded and oversized radio display screen, Tow Hitch, Spare tire and jack kit (these cars came with run flat tires and no spare), Michelin Defender LTX MS with low miles, second set of BMW wheels and sensors with Nokian Hakkapeliitta R3 SUV tires with about ½ life left, ceramic coated, headlamp plastics restored and clear coated, rear cargo tray, retractable rear cargo cover, HID headlamps that move with the steering wheel to illuminate around corners. Icy cold A/C in the summer, and blazing heat in the winter. It even has all 4 jack pads in place still. The car runs and drives very well, only selling because we bought a new car. Comes with all original books, two genuine BMW keys and the emergency key to get in the drivers door. This car is absolutely ready to go.
As great as these E70’s are, there are about 4 glaring problems that they all have or will develop: 1) Oil pan leaks oil 2) Oil filter base housing leaks oil 3) Valve cover leaks oil 4) Air conditioner evaporator failure. All of these problems have been addressed and everything has been updated on this X5, with all work being performed at BMW of Highlands Ranch, and at Dynamic Import Services by BMW certified technicians. Only genuine BMW parts were used and this one does not leak a drop of oil. Have maintenance history for most of this car’s life.
Because this was my wife’s daily driver, I always took a no-compromise approach to maintenance and all fluids have been flushed over the years on the maintenance intervals as put forth by BMW. Recently, the defroster vent got stuck in the mid position, with little to no air coming out, making winter driving difficult at best. It turned out to be a broken heater box, and the suggested repair was to disassemble the entire dash, remove the heater box and repair it with a screw and adhesive. While that may have been a stronger fix, we opted to get a genuine BMW heater box assembly (which took 3 weeks to get here from Germany) and replaced the A/C evaporator with a genuine BMW evaporator at the same time. We also replaced the battery this year with a genuine BMW battery.
The issues with this car are mainly cosmetic:
•Wheels are beginning to lose their paint and could use a restoration. Powder coating would solve that
•The Clear coat has come off on the top of the front fenders
•The DS chrome exhaust surround is curiously missing. The exhaust pipe itself is fine, the chrome accent is just…gone. $58.00 for a new one from BMW
•Various minor nicks and scraps from being in service since 2012
•DS rear center console vent missing side to side adjustment slider

12/21 Transmission service, new pan/filter assembly, transfer case serviced, front and rear differential serviced
12/21 upgraded 12.3” replacement screen for infotainment
11/20 brake fluid flushed
04/19 Fuel tank ventilation and breather replaced
09/19 Replace both front tension struts (lower control arms), replace all engine partitions (these ALWAYS break)
09/19 Oil pan reseal
09/17 new roller blind for luggage area
